POLICE INVESTIGATE FATAL TRAFFIC ACCIDENT ON FORT ROAD<\/em><\/p>

St. John\u2019s, Antigua and Barbuda \u2014 Tuesday, May 6, 2025<\/p>

The police are continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding a fatal traffic accident that claimed the life of 45-year-old Allissa Chiddick of Martin’s Village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. on Labour Day, Monday, May 5, in the vicinity of Millaz Beach Bar and Restaurant on Fort Road. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It is alleged that the victim attempted to board a trailer truck travelling west to east along Fort Road when she accidentally fell beneath the rear wheels of the vehicle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She sustained multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 5:30 p.m.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A postmortem examination will be conducted as part of the ongoing investigation.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

45-year-old Allissa Chiddick of Martin’s Village<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Police Administration sincerely regrets this tragic incident and extends heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Allissa Chiddick during this difficult time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the police are once again urging the public to exercise extra caution and prioritize safety during festive events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drivers and operators of trailer trucks are also reminded to ensure their vehicles are properly equipped with appropriate safety measures and protective barriers to prevent injuries or loss of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that can further assist in the investigation is asked to contact the Traffic Department at 462-0125.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
