PM Browne: UPP Attracting \u2018Vagabonds and Criminals\u2019<\/strong><\/p>

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has launched a scathing attack on the United Progressive Party (UPP), claiming the opposition is attracting individuals with questionable integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on his Browne and Browne<\/em> programme on Pointe FM, Browne said: \u201cThere\u2019s literally a constellation of vagabonds and criminals that are literally coalescing within the UPP.\u201d<\/p>

\"\"<\/div>\n\n\n\n

He claimed the party was drawing in individuals \u201cwith that kind of integrity or lack of integrity for that matter,\u201d adding: \u201cIt seems as though they\u2019re attracting a particular type of people.\u201d<\/p>

Browne also questioned the credibility of UPP leadership, stating: \u201cThey know ordinarily that people would not vote for Pringle, but they may vote against the Labour Party based on all the lies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He criticised what he described as the intellectual dishonesty of the party\u2019s supporters: \u201cThey are supporting the lies and peddling all the misinformation and disinformation because at the back of their minds they don\u2019t feel that it is convenient for them to stand on the truth.\u201d<\/p>

The Prime Minister said that while some educated individuals remained in the opposition, \u201cThose bright people know how to deflect their intelligence when it comes to filtering out the truth and the substance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He continued: \u201cYou cannot be bright, for example, and hang on to something like that. It\u2019s a waste of time.\u201d<\/p>

Browne further described some UPP critics as \u201csoft-minded,\u201d referencing a recent social media post in which he sarcastically offered to donate the proceeds of the Alfa Nero sale to the opposition: \u201cI said, you know, I\u2019m feeling generous, that I\u2019ll be donating the stolen Alfa $27 million [to] the United Progressive Party \u2014 they need it.\u201d<\/p>

Asserting that the opposition contributes little to governance, he added: \u201cThey don\u2019t contribute anything to the Parliament.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Browne also issued a broader defence of his administration: \u201cYou\u2019re living in a country that is well-governed and people are making money.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
