Robinson died behind bars on January 24, just one day after he was granted bail. His family, still reeling from the sudden loss, now faces an even more painful reality \u2014 confusion over how their loved one died while in state custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe not knowing is worse than anything,\u201d said a family member. \u201cHow does someone die from neck trauma while in a prison cell?\u201d<\/p>

The post-mortem examination revealed Robinson died from anoxia, trauma to the neck, and cardiac failure.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Assistant Commissioner of Police Clifton Cabral stated they believe Robinson could have died of natural causes based on their interpretation of the pathologist\u2019s report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not really treating it as a homicide at this time,\u201d Cabral explained. \u201cWhen you look at it, it could be of a natural cause, rather than somebody administering it to him. So, we\u2019re not really looking at it in its entirety as a homicide, but we\u2019re not going to stop.\u201d<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This position has alarmed the family whose attorney, Wendel Alexander, has called for an immediate coroner\u2019s inquest, and a homicide investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even Superintendent of Prisons Colonel Trevor Pennyfeather expressed his own concerns saying, \u201cvery possibly it\u2019s strangulation\u201d.<\/p>

Police Commissioner Everton Jeffers assured that \u201cthe matter is under investigation\u201d and that when completed, they \u201cwill determine from the investigation where that matter goes\u201d.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Adding to the family\u2019s distress, the pathologist reportedly warned them that police often fail to test samples collected during autopsies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When questioned about this, police responded that testing would be done in a \u201creasonable time\u201d as \u201cseveral other samples connected to previous ongoing investigations are prepared to be sent abroad as was indicated.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As days turn into weeks, Robinson\u2019s family continues their painful wait for answers about what really happened to their loved one behind the walls of His Majesty\u2019s Prison.<\/p>\n
