The lawyers, Michael Archibald and Warren Cassell, have also asked for full disclosure from the prosecution.<\/p>

The police arrested and charged the duo with possession and other cannabis<\/a><\/strong>-related charges after they were caught with the substance last weekend.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Cassell is of the opinion that his client should not have been charged as he is a member of the Nyabinghi movement and the substance is used as a sacrament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, there was a Cannabis Festival last week and the young man was reportedly transporting the substance as part of the event to a particular location.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

What made this year\u2019s festival unique was that special permission had been granted for public consumption of specific portions of cannabis during the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDay two was a sacramental gazetted event, which allowed the space to be used for the religious activities,\u201d Regis Burton, CEO of the Medicinal Cannabis Authority (MCA) said during an earlier interview with the Observer.<\/p>

\u201cOn a usual basis, we do not allow; it\u2019s not lawful for someone to consume cannabis in a public space, but for this festival, we would have gotten the permission from our minister responsible for cannabis, the attorney general,\u201d he added.<\/p>
