Antiguan musician GMan is carving out a space of his own in the music scene\u2014one focused on feel-good, timeless records that people can enjoy anywhere, whether in church or at a child\u2019s birthday party. <\/p>

In a recent interview, the rising artist opened up about his creative journey, musical influences, and the lessons he\u2019s picked up along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His dream of fame started back in school\u2014not just for the spotlight, but for the way creative people seemed to move through the world. \u201cI always wanted to be famous for some reason,\u201d he said.<\/p>

\u201cFrom school days, I saw how popular people got treated differently\u2014whether in sports, acting, or music. Those were the things I loved, and I kept practicing until music and acting stuck.\u201d<\/p>

Over the years, his influences grew into a blend of genres and generations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He looked up to dancehall icons like Beenie Man and Bounty Killer, hip-hop heavyweights like 50 Cent and DMX, and pop legends like Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

But it wasn\u2019t just global stars who shaped his vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSeeing Naycha Kid come out of the same school as me, watching him grow in music\u2014that opened my eyes,\u201d he said. \u201cIf he could do it, so could I.\u201d<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Raised between Antigua and Guyana, GMan soaked up sounds from all directions. \u201cGuyana doesn\u2019t have one dominant genre, so I heard everything,\u201d he explained.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSoca stuck with me, but I have mad love for dancehall and reggae.\u201d That fusion, he said, became the foundation of his sound\u2014a style he proudly calls \u201cunique.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One thing that separates GMan\u2019s music from much of what\u2019s trending is his refusal to chase shock value. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI avoid slackness. I want my songs to play anywhere\u2014church, a kid\u2019s party, any day of the week,\u201d he said. \u201cI want to make classics.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His writing process is rooted in storytelling\u2014whether it\u2019s a serious topic or something more playful, the goal is always to connect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI can write about Trump, money, or even guns without saying those words directly,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe trick is making people dance to the story without realizing it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Still, creating music comes with challenges\u2014especially when it comes to production. \u201cGood sounds make people move, but they can be expensive,\u201d he admitted. \u201cSo I focus on lyrics, melody, and flow\u2014my \u2018special sauce.\u2019 If the heart is in it, the song will speak for itself.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through it all, faith keeps him grounded. After hitting a few walls, he took a step back to refocus. \u201cI had to go back to the drawing board, start over, and understand my purpose,\u201d he said. \u201cNow, I move full speed with God by my side.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And it\u2019s the love from fans that keeps him going. From locals honking when they spot his license plate to border agents in Barbados and Trinidad humming his tracks, those moments remind him that the music is traveling. \u201cI didn\u2019t even know my songs had reached that far,\u201d he said. \u201cThat moment made everything worth it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead, he\u2019s focused on growth and consistency. \u201cI want my supporters to know I\u2019m pushing my music to the highest level. Whether I make finals this year or win something big, I won\u2019t stop. With God, anything is possible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asked how he wants to be remembered, GMan kept it simple: \u201cAs someone who never gave up. That\u2019s it\u2014no other way.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With his relentless drive, grounded spirit, and dedication to creating music that matters, GMan is building a legacy of his own\u2014one timeless song at a time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
