OECS CIP Leaders Meet in Antigua to Safeguard Investment Programmes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prime ministers and senior officials from five Eastern Caribbean states are meeting in St John\u2019s, Antigua this week to chart the future of their Citizenship by Investment Programmes (CIPs<\/a><\/strong>).<\/p>

\"\"<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dubbed the Caribbean Investment Summit 2025<\/em>, the event brings together Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St Lucia, and St Kitts and Nevis\u2014countries that rely heavily on CIP <\/a><\/strong>revenue as a key non-tax income source.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The summit comes amid mounting pressure from the EU and US to tighten or scrap such programmes, prompting regional coordination led by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ECCB Governor Timothy Antoine is expected to deliver a regulatory update, followed by consultations on new legislative proposals. <\/p>

Antigua\u2019s Prime Minister Gaston Browne will address the forum, highlighting efforts to ensure transparency and professionalism in the country’s CIP operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The summit will also include a prime ministers\u2019 roundtable where leaders will share national experiences and strategies to safeguard the programmes from external threats.<\/p>
