For those traveling from third countries (excluding Canada), the process will be more extensive: they must first obtain an electronic visa through eVisaCuba and subsequently fill out the D\u2019Viajeros form, emphasized MINTUR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This announcement comes amid a prolonged crisis in the Cuban tourism sector, characterized by a sustained decline in visitor arrivals, frequent complaints from tourists, and issues related to safety and the quality of services in hotels and airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the first quarter of 2025, the outlook for tourism in Cuba has been characterized by a profound crisis, evident in a\u00a030% drop in the arrival of international visitors<\/strong><\/a>, according to official figures released by the National Office of Statistics and Information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decline in tourism is not only evident in the statistics but also in the atmosphere of the streets. A viral video published in early March shows a Cuban walking down Obispo Street on a Saturday night<\/strong><\/a>, completely empty, in what was once one of the liveliest areas of Old Havana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From abroad, the experiences of the few tourists who still choose Cuba have been varied. In March, a Russian family shared their vacation experience on the island<\/strong><\/a>, describing difficulties in finding food, failures in basic services, and inflated prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the hospitality of the Cuban people, their testimony highlighted the structural shortcomings faced by visitors, which could influence their decision to return or recommend the destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These testimonies include that of an\u00a0international tiktoker who documented their visit to private and state-owned businesses<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in the capital, showcasing everything from high prices to empty shelves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
