The government says the Credit Suisse Securities\n(USA) LLC has agreed to lend it even more money.<\/p>

Officials\nfrom the company\u2019s New York office were in Cabinet yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nfirm\u2019s previous loan to the then Baldwin Spencer administration is still being\nrepaid.<\/p>

The US$100\nmillion-dollar loan was controversial as it attracted a high interest rate of 13\npercent. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The\ninterest rate was negotiated downward by the incoming Gaston Browne\nAdministration after 2014. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\ngovernment says having been assessed as a good credit-risk, has won the\nassurances from the lending company that it is willing to lend an additional\namount at a far lower fixed-and-variable interest rate. <\/p>

The\nrate of interest or amount of the new loan has not yet been finalized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe\nfirm\u2019s first proposal, which included a lender\u2019s fee of a burdensome amount,\nwas rejected. The counter-proposal to the Credit Suisse officials, by the\nCabinet, will likely be agreed-to by the decision-makers. The team will confirm\nthe rates early next week,\u201d the Cabinet reported.<\/p>
