Gaston Browne Vows to Stay the Course Amid Attacks: \u2018They Can\u2019t Get Me Out\u2019<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has reaffirmed his commitment to political leadership, declaring that no amount of criticism or alleged smear campaigns will force him out of office.<\/strong><\/p>

Addressing supporters at a political rally on Friday night, Mr Browne responded defiantly to ongoing allegations surrounding the Alfa Nero yacht and other controversies, insisting he remains focused on serving the people of Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf it\u2019s one man they can\u2019t get out of the race, it will be Gaston Browne,\u201d he said. \u201cProvided that I have breath, I will continue to fight for you unrelentingly.\u201d<\/p>

Mr Browne\u2019s remarks come amid increased scrutiny over court documents filed in the United States, in which opposition figures are alleged to have shared information with a foreign attorney. The Prime Minister described the claims as part of a broader campaign to damage his reputation and that of the country.<\/p>

\u201cThis is not a trial. There is no case. What they want is to get into my bank accounts based on fabrications,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Browne likened the efforts to \u201cpolitical treason\u201d and accused his detractors of attempting to destabilise the nation in hopes of gaining power.<\/p>

In a speech that blended political messaging with personal conviction, the Prime Minister said he is not in politics for material gain or public adoration, but to improve the lives of citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am not in politics because I\u2019m looking for money, fame, or sex,\u201d he told the crowd. \u201cI am here to serve you as your chief servant.\u201d<\/p>

He also invoked the legacy of past Labour Party leaders, particularly National Hero Sir Vere Cornwall Bird, while vowing to defend his own name with greater intensity.<\/p>

\u201cCeleste [Bird] was more concerned about being seen as a statesman,\u201d Browne said. \u201cBut Gaston Browne will fight tooth and nail to defend his character\u2014on the platform, on radio, and on television.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite facing what he called \u201coutlandish\u201d and \u201cridiculous\u201d accusations, Mr Browne maintained that the Labour government remains committed to good governance and national progress. He highlighted the acquisition of public assets such as the West Indies Oil Company, healthcare advances, and infrastructure upgrades as evidence of his administration\u2019s effectiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He closed his speech with a call for unity and endurance. \u201cLet them come clean when they come, because they are underestimating the intelligence of the people of Antigua and Barbuda,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
