Carnival Tuesday Parade Route Shifted for Safety and Speed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has approved a new route for the Carnival <\/a><\/strong>Tuesday parade, citing safety and efficiency as key reasons for the change.<\/p>

Ambassador Lionel Hurst, speaking at Thursday\u2019s post-Cabinet media briefing, said the revised route will follow wider roads, allowing for smoother traffic flow and reducing congestion during one of the most anticipated events of the annual festivities.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe usual route includes narrow streets such as Market Street, which can hinder movement and increase the risk of overcrowding,\u201d Hurst explained. \u201cIn contrast, sections of the new route, such as Old Parham Road, are significantly wider and better suited to accommodate growing numbers of participants and onlookers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision to alter the route was influenced by the success of similar changes during the popular T-shirt mas, which also uses broader roadways. Officials believe the shift will help eliminate long delays between parade segments and create a more enjoyable experience for all involved.<\/p>

The Minister of Creative Industries, who made the recommendation to Cabinet, reportedly based the proposal on both logistical assessments and public feedback from previous years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government expects an increase in participation this Carnival <\/a><\/strong>season, driven in part by rising disposable incomes and a growing interest in the event. Organisers are being urged to plan accordingly to ensure a smooth rollout of the revised route.<\/p>
