Pringle Rallies Supporters at Protest, Vows to \u2018Rescue\u2019 Antigua and Barbuda<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opposition Leader Hon. Jamale Pringle delivered a fiery address on Thursday evening, declaring his unwavering commitment to the people of Antigua and Barbuda<\/a><\/strong> and vowing to “rescue” the country from what he described as a \u201cterrible administration.\u201d<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the culmination of the \u201cDe Whole Country Fed Up March\u201d outside the old parliament building in St John\u2019s, Mr Pringle thanked demonstrators for their resilience and called on supporters to remain focused on change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou are standing firm and resolute,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m not here for praise or recognition\u2014I\u2019m here to rescue Antigua and Barbuda.\u201d<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Throughout his speech, Mr Pringle heavily criticised the Antigua and Barbuda<\/a><\/strong> Labour Party (ABLP) government, accusing it of presiding over repeated corruption scandals, rising taxes, and a cost-of-living crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He argued that the struggles facing citizens\u2014from crime to economic hardship\u2014stem from government mismanagement.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is not the United Progressive Party that has failed you,\u201d he told the crowd. \u201cIt is the current administration that has abandoned you.\u201d<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mr Pringle also urged citizens to renew their voter registration cards in preparation for the next general election, which he said would be a defining moment for the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis election is not just for the UPP,\u201d he said. \u201cIt is for the future of Antigua and Barbuda. If you love this country, you will vote to redeem it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He praised party officials and the people of Barbuda, who he said have shown the nation how to rid themselves of the ABLP. \u201cNow it\u2019s time for Antigua to follow suit,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The march and rally were part of growing calls by the opposition for governmental accountability, transparency, and reform. Pringle closed his remarks with an emotional pledge to continue fighting on behalf of his constituents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI will not forsake you. I will defend you. And together, we will ensure that the wealth of this nation is spread equitably across Antigua and Barbuda.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The protest ended peacefully, with organisers hinting at future demonstrations in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
