A Gray\u2019s Farm man has been jailed after being found with an unlicensed firearm <\/a><\/strong>and ammunition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Akeem Brookes, 27, admitted to the charges and was sentenced by Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel. He will serve a total of four years and three months for possession of the illegal firearm<\/a><\/strong>, plus an additional year for the ammunition.<\/p>

Brookes was stopped by police on March 30 near Hoppers playing field during a routine patrol. A search uncovered a concealed .32 Walther pistol, loaded with seven rounds of ammunition.<\/p>
