The Leeward Islands Cricket Board (LICB<\/a><\/strong>) has undertaken\u00a0 a historic modernization of its governance framework with the first revision of its Memorandum and\u00a0 Articles of Association since 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This strategic advancement is the result of a meticulous review\u00a0 process led by a dedicated subcommittee and supported by a retained legal advisory firm. Following\u00a0 rigorous deliberations, the LICB <\/a><\/strong>Board approved the refined document, and its Member Territories\u00a0 formally ratified the amendments at an Extraordinary General Meeting held on March 31, 2025.\u00a0<\/p>

This revision marks a significant step in LICB\u2019s pursuit of excellence, strengthening transparency\u00a0 and progressive leadership in cricket administration. <\/p>

The updated Memorandum and Articles of\u00a0 Association introduce key governance enhancements that fortify decision-making integrity, broaden\u00a0 representation, and reinforce best practices in leadership tenure.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the most significant changes is the introduction of term limits for the President and Vice\u00a0 President positions, each now serving a three-year term. <\/p>

To uphold the principles of democratic\u00a0 leadership and continuity, no individual may serve as President for more than two consecutive terms.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This adjustment fosters leadership renewal while ensuring stability and sustained strategic direction\u00a0 within the organization.\u00a0<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Further advancing governance impartiality, LICB has also established the role of an Independent\u00a0 Director. This individual will remain unaffiliated with any territorial board and is not required to\u00a0 reside within the Leeward Islands.<\/p>

Their presence will ensure complete objectivity in LICB\u2019s\u00a0 governance, reinforcing professionalism and independence in decision-making processes.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, to strengthen equitable territorial representation, each Member Territory will now\u00a0 designate a representative – distinct from the appointed LICB Director – to attend and participate in\u00a0 General Meetings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This measure guarantees that all territories have a voice in LICB\u2019s governance,\u00a0 enhancing democratic engagement and regional inclusivity.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
