Consultations are to begin this month on updated environmental laws which proposes jail time for littering.<\/p>

The Ministry of the Environment says it will host a number of public consultations on the Litter Control and Prevention Bill 2018 this month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nBill addresses a number of issues including the Disposal of Litter in a Public\nPlace, Disposal of Litter from Motor Vehicle or Trailer, Illegal Dumping,\nDisposal of Waste from Construction Sites, Storage and Disposal of Commercial\nWaste by Business Owners, Appointment and Removal of Litter Prevention Wardens\nfrom Office, Disposal of Derelict Vehicles and Punishment of Offence. <\/p>

The\nfirst consultation will take place on Monday 14th<\/sup> January at the\nMultipurpose Cultural and Exhibition Centre at 5:30 pm.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The\nsecond will be at the Liberta Primary School on Monday 21st<\/sup> January\nwhile Wednesday 23rd<\/sup> January will be held at the Cedar Grove Primary\nSchool. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting\ntime for each consultation is 5:30 pm. <\/p>

Minister\nof Health, Wellness and the Environment, the Honourable Molwyn Joseph,\nPermanent Secretary within the Ministry, Joan Carrott, Environment Management\nCoordinator, Indira James-Henry as well as a member of Legal Affairs will be\nthe speakers at the event.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A\nnumber of Senior Technicians from the Central Board of Health and the National\nSolid Waste Management Authority will also be in attendance to answer any\nquestions that the public may have. <\/p>
