Barnes Hill, Antigua \u2013 March 27, 2025<\/em>
Michael Freeland<\/a><\/strong>, the newly confirmed Antigua and Barbuda<\/a><\/strong> Labour Party (ABLP) candidate for the St. George constituency, has pledged to bring a new level of accessibility and engagement to his campaign and future representation.<\/p>

Speaking at a lively thank-you rally in Barnes Hill on Wednesday night, Freeland <\/a><\/strong>announced plans to launch a community outreach programme called \u201cCommunity Connect\u201d<\/strong>, promising the first town hall meeting within the next three weeks.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have lots of things to discuss and lots of work to do,\u201d he told supporters. \u201cNow is the time for us to act.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Freeland also committed to opening a constituency branch office in the coming week. He said the office will operate with dedicated hours for residents to meet with him directly, share their concerns, and help shape future plans for the area.<\/p>

\u201cBy next week, I will be in my office to meet and greet every one of you\u2014hear your stories, hear your frustration\u2014because that is the job: to serve you, the people,\u201d Freeland said to applause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative marks a key shift in approach, emphasizing transparency and consistent dialogue between the candidate and constituents. Freeland, who grew up in the area, said the idea for open office hours and regular town halls came directly from feedback he received while developing his community-driven manifesto.<\/p>

\u201cI can\u2019t do the things I want to do without the people\u2019s buy-in,\u201d he said. \u201cYou\u2019ve bought in, and you\u2019ve said this is a solid promise.\u201d<\/p>
