PM Predicts \u201cSerpent Will Be Deposed\u201d in St. George<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has predicted the political downfall of opposition MP Algernon \u201cSerpent\u201d Watts, declaring that the United Progressive Party (UPP) representative for St. George<\/a><\/strong> \u201cwill be deposed\u201d at the next general election.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Browne made the remark during his weekend radio programme Browne and Browne<\/em>, shortly after confirming Michael Freeland as the Labour Party\u2019s candidate for the constituency. Freeland, who was recently appointed to the Senate, emerged victorious in the party\u2019s internal primary for St. George<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

While expressing confidence in Freeland\u2019s chances, Browne launched a scathing critique of the sitting MP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe is a very cruel man,\u201d the prime minister said, accusing Watts of publicly humiliating constituents who seek assistance. \u201cYou don\u2019t help people by exposing them. That\u2019s not leadership\u2014it\u2019s an abuse of power.\u201d<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Browne went further, calling Watts \u201cvacuous\u201d and \u201cempty of ideas,\u201d suggesting that his popularity as a media personality has not translated into tangible results for the people of St. George.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe has nothing to offer,\u201d Browne said. \u201cAbsolutely nothing. And that\u2019s why I\u2019m saying here today: Serpent will be deposed.\u201d<\/p>

The prime minister\u2019s remarks are part of an early election-season offensive, as both major political parties prepare for the next general polls. The ABLP has already begun unveiling its candidates, while the UPP is expected to defend several marginal seats, including St. George.<\/p>

Freeland, a former parliamentary secretary, is expected to begin his campaign in earnest in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No date has been set for the next general election, but Browne\u2019s comments signal a sharpened tone as the battle for key constituencies intensifies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
