 Director of the  South West Regional Health Authority, Albert Persaud says an investigation has been launched into the circumstances that led to the death of a 26 year old woman just days after giving birth.<\/p>

It\u2019s reported that Maquad\u00ader Mar\u00adtin died on the floor near the bathroom area of the maternity ward of the San Fer\u00adnan\u00addo Gen\u00ader\u00adal Hos\u00adpi\u00adtal, three days after giving birth to her first child. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An au\u00adtop\u00adsy re\u00advealed that she died from a pul\u00admonary em\u00adbolism.<\/p>

However, the Trinidad Guardian reports that Martin\u2019s common law husband , Davis Nedd, believes her death was due to negligence on the part of medical personnel.<\/p>

According to the Guardian , a visitor and a patient who were both on the ward when Martin died, con\u00adfirmed that she dragged her\u00adself to the bath\u00adroom af\u00adter she was re\u00adfused a bed\u00adpan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They al\u00adso claimed that af\u00adter she col\u00adlapsed, she was left there for a long time be\u00adfore be\u00ading at\u00adtend\u00aded.<\/p>
