In response to recent claims made in an article regarding the Willy D Project in Freeman\u2019s Village, we wish to clarify the impact of our financial backing and the steps we have taken to ensure the best outcomes for our members.<\/p>

As a cooperative dedicated to improving the lives of our members, Community First has supported the Willy D Project to provide accessible homeownership opportunities. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This initiative has empowered numerous members to transition from renters to proud homeowners, fostering financial security and stability for their families. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The economic impact of this project has been significant, generating employment for contractors, suppliers, and service providers, further stimulating local economic activity.<\/p>

However, we acknowledge the concerns raised by some members regarding aspects of the project. Community First has actively engaged in consultations with the vendor to address these concerns, ensuring that our members\u2019 investments are safeguarded and that any outstanding issues are resolved satisfactorily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In January 2025, after careful review, we determined that the best course of action for member satisfaction was to pause all new projects under this vendor\u2019s portfolio until the existing issues have been resolved.<\/p>

We remain committed to advocating for our members and ensuring that their interests are protected. Community First will continue to monitor the situation closely and work towards solutions that uphold the highest standards of accountability and transparency.<\/p>
