The Girl Guides Association of Antigua and Barbuda<\/strong><\/a> will now operate as an incorporated entity following the passage of the Girls Guide Association of Antigua and Barbuda<\/a> (Incorporation) Bill<\/strong> in Parliament on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bill grants the organization legal status, allowing it to hold property, enter contracts, and further its mission of empowering young women. It establishes a governing council, ensures nonprofit operations, protects the Association\u2019s name and branding, and transfers its assets and liabilities to the new entity.<\/p>

Additionally, the law penalizes unauthorized use of the Association\u2019s identity, with fines up to $2,000 or six months’ imprisonment.<\/p>

MP Maria Bird-Browne welcomed the move, aligning it with upcoming International Women\u2019s Day<\/strong> celebrations, while Sir Molwyn Joseph highlighted its role in guiding youth away from crime. The Act will take effect on a date set by the Minister and published in the Gazette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
