Prime Minister Gaston Browne has confirmed that the Booby Alley housing project<\/a><\/strong> remains on track for completion by March or April 2026. During a recent site visit, Browne expressed satisfaction with the pace of construction, affirming that the project is within budget and progressing according to schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The development will deliver 150 two-bedroom homes to former residents of the area, with Browne highlighting their climate-resilient design. “These homes will be climate-resilient, built with pile structures to withstand environmental challenges. Our people will benefit from a significant upgrade in their living conditions, and the quality of these homes matches the best found anywhere in the world,” Browne stated.<\/p>

Browne extended gratitude to the People\u2019s Republic of China for their support in financing the Booby Alley housing project. He underscored the importance of China\u2019s philosophy of shared prosperity, which has allowed Antigua and Barbuda to benefit from critical infrastructural development.<\/p>

“I had the opportunity to meet with President Xi Jinping, who elaborated on China\u2019s vision of shared prosperity. Browne, who has a background in construction, reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the housing sector, stating that no other contractor on the island has built as many homes as he has during his tenure. “My vision is to empower people with better homes\u2014climate-resilient homes that will last for generations.
