The\u00a0nation\u2019s\u00a0largest\u00a0cultural event kicked off with a high-energy celebration of culture, music, and mas at Weatherills Estate, which\u00a0was transformed\u00a0into a carnival-like atmosphere, where stakeholders, sponsors, and patrons gathered to share in the excitement of Carnival 25.<\/p>

Ambassador Elizabeth Makhoul<\/strong>, Chair of the Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission, paid tribute to the dedicated team of planners, creatives, and volunteers who invest their hearts into every production. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u00a0want to commend and congratulate the Carnival Sub-Committees for their first-class execution year after year. <\/p>

According to officials, Antigua Carnival 2024 witnessed unprecedented\u00a0growth in\u00a0music production and attendance.There\u00a0were significant increases in visitor arrivals, airlift capacity, hotels, and Airbnb occupancy.\u00a0<\/p>

This\u00a0led to a record-breaking number of\u00a0 masqueraders\u00a0participating from both\u00a0local and international communities, resulting in a tremendous economic impact for local businesses and stakeholders.<\/p>

The Hon. Daryll Matthew,<\/strong>\u00a0Minister Responsible for Creative Industries, emphasized the importance and impact of Carnival during his address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCarnival is more than just another festival;\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0the heartbeat of our culture, the fuel for our creative industries, and a major economic driver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u00a0unites us as a people and showcases Antigua and Barbuda to the world through our music, mas, and revelry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Antigua Carnival 2025 will take place\u00a0from July 25th to August 5th.
