The new Care Project home for persons living with disabilities will be ready to open to the residents, staff and management early in the New Year.<\/p>

Permanent Secretary within the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Joan Carrott made the announcement while addressing those gathered for the Care Project\u2019s Christmas program on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs. Carrott noted that although they had initially hoped to have the building opened by this time, there were unexpected challenges that caused the delay. The new home is estimated to be more than 90 percent completed.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Permanent Secretary offered the assurance that the Government of Antigua and Barbuda, through the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment as well as the Ministry ofWorks<\/g><\/g> will be putting all hands on deck to ensure a timely completion.<\/p>

The new home will be equipped with the resident dormitory, an administrative block, a classroom centre<\/g>, and also a therapeutic swimming pool which will be open to all residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She thanked both the management and staff for their continued dedication and unselfish commitment to the task at hand. She also thanked the civic-minded donors, Friends of the Care Project, Maria Holder Foundation and Residents ofJumby Bay who contributed to this very important initiative.<\/p>
