On Saturday, February 15, Dominica celebrated United Airlines\u2019 inaugural flight from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Dominica\u2019s Douglas-Charles Airport <\/a><\/strong>(DOM), marking the second nonstop flight route from the United States to Dominica. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new service operates on Saturdays, departing Newark at 9:10 a.m. EST and arriving in Dominica at 2:39 p.m. AST on a Boeing 737-700 aircraft. The return flight departs Dominica at 3:45 p.m. AST and arrives in Newark at 7:51 p.m. EST.\u00a0<\/p>

The inaugural flight kicked off with a gate event at Newark Liberty International Airport, where Dominican dignitaries, local and airport officials, and travelers gathered to celebrate the new route to the Caribbean\u2019s Nature Island. <\/p>

Upon arrival at Douglas-Charles Airport, passengers were greeted with a water cannon salute and a celebratory welcome from the Discover Dominica Authority and island officials.\u00a0<\/p>
