Dear Mr. Michael Joseph,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the Junior health minister, who is an extremely responsible & proactive person, I chose to address you rather than addressing the minister of health, who I think seems to be more focused on the estetiques of the hospital rather than the baisc operations.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It is always advocated that a healthy nation is always a wealthy nation.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, as an Antiguan who wants to see the best for my country, I think it is only appropriate to ask you the following questions because from my vantage point, it seems to me that our healthcare system is falling apart….<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.Why are so many clinics close in Antigua <\/p>

2. Why can’t our junior doctors who are seeking employment be utilized as medical administrators at the clinics ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. What added value has the new waiting room done to the turnaround time to see a doctor in the ER dept at SLBMC ?<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

4. Why is the hospital short staff with doctors when some medical students are unemployed? If the payroll is saturated, can’t they be voluntarily enrolled to assist with the manpower and given a stipend and at the same time allow them to get hands on practice?<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

5. Why are incidents concerning doctors’ irresponsible practice been swept under the table?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Why is there a shortage of linen such as bed sheets & pillows within the wards?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Why do doctors have to work 24 hr shifts?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. Why are so many nurses & doctors getting frustrated with our health care system and migrating overseas to find better a working environment?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9. Why isn’t there a proper accountability system where patients can file reports of the poor treatment they have received from the medics?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10. Why isn’t a system in place for patients who have a crisis condition such asthma, sickle cell, gastrointestinal and cardiac, not be given an ID card, so upon arrival at the ER dept these patients can be clearly identified to get immediate attention?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

11. Why aren’t doctors summoned to a tribunal when they are found to be irresponsible during their practice?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12. What are the responsibities of our new medical director?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
