Senator Knacyntar Nedd-Charles<\/strong> has urged voters in Barbuda to support candidates who are committed to development, accountability, and effective governance in the upcoming local government elections. Speaking at the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) candidate presentation, she highlighted the need for leaders who prioritize results over political allegiance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She criticized the current Barbuda People\u2019s Movement (BPM)-led Council, questioning its ability to deliver tangible progress for residents. \u201cIt is time for voters to evaluate the track record of those in office and ask what has been accomplished. Representation should not be about party loyalty, but about who can get the job done,\u201d she said.<\/p>

Nedd Charles endorsed the five ABLP candidates\u2014Bernard Alexander Christian, Bonita John-Dezouza, Makisha Desouza, Orlando Morris, and Arthur Nibbs\u2014stating that they are committed to improving infrastructure, housing, and economic opportunities. \u201cThese candidates are dedicated to the people. They have worked tirelessly in their communities and will ensure that the Council delivers real change,\u201d she said.<\/p>

She also addressed concerns about key projects in Barbuda, including the Louis Hill development. She dismissed claims that the initiative would not benefit residents and reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment to ensuring access to housing. \u201cDevelopment projects are designed to provide opportunities for the people of Barbuda, from job creation to homeownership,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting economic growth, she pointed to the expansion of tourism and new infrastructure as key opportunities for local businesses. She emphasized that electing the right representatives would ensure that these benefits reach the people of Barbuda. \u201cFrom the new airport to the growth of tourism, there are clear signs of progress. The right leadership will make sure that these opportunities are maximized for the benefit of residents,\u201d she said.<\/p>
