The Hon. Jamale Pringle, Political Leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP), is pleased to announce 14 of the 16 Candidates\/Caretakers expected to contest the next General Election on the Party\u2019s slate, with two constituencies in the process of being settled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe situation in some constituencies became rather fluid, because of personal circumstances,\u201d explains MP Pringle. \u201cAnd while this generally has worked to the Party\u2019s benefit, it also forced me to delay making the announcement several times.<\/p>

\u201cWhile I am still to settle two constituencies, there is a loud call from our supporters for a formal announcement \u2013 even though the Branches are already well aware of the selections,\u201d Pringle adds.<\/p>

Accordingly, the Party confirms that Franz DeFreitas<\/strong> will return to St. John\u2019s City South and Alister Thomas<\/strong> to St. John\u2019s City West. Ashworth Azille<\/strong> will represent the Party in St. John\u2019s Rural East and Emanuel Peters<\/strong> in St. John\u2019s Rural South.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Freshman Barbara Coates<\/strong> joins the slate in All Saints West and another newcomer, Wayne Benjamin Marsh<\/strong>, will carry the UPP flag in St. Paul.<\/p>

The five incumbent representatives will continue in their constituencies: MP Algernon Watts<\/strong> in St. George; MP Kelvin Simon<\/strong> in St. Mary\u2019s South; MP Richard Lewis<\/strong> in St. John\u2019s Rural West; MP Sherfield Bowen<\/strong> in St. Phillip’s South; and MP Jamale Pringle<\/strong> in All Saints East and St. Luke.<\/p>
