He noted that mega yachts often carry dozens of passengers and crew members who contribute significantly to the local economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our ambition now is to have additional berthing facilities where we can accommodate luxury ships and increase visitor spending,” Browne said. <\/p>

“These vessels can carry up to 75 individuals, and their economic contribution is substantial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We want to ensure that Antigua and Barbuda benefits from this market.”<\/p>

The government has indicated that it will seek private-sector partnerships to fund and manage the facility, following a similar model to its arrangement with Global Ports Holding for cruise port operations. <\/p>

The country hosts international yachting events such as Antigua Sailing Week and the Antigua Charter Yacht Show, positioning it as a key destination for luxury maritime tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
