UPDATE<\/strong> By Statemedia: Police say they have questioned and released a man who was stopped by security at the Golden Grove Primary School on Wednesday.<\/p>

School officials were concerned when the child raised an alarm when he saw the man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The child was reportedly alarmed because his mother has had a strained relationship with the man. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Police were called to the school, but say the man was not found with a weapon, as had been reported in some information portals.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The man reportedly told police he was seeking to make enquiries of the child after being unable to reach the child’s mother.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man was however prevented from getting to the child, as school officials acted quickly to ensure the situation did not escalate.<\/p>

The child’s mother reportedly collected him without incident. Education officials also visited the school to speak with staffers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.<\/p>

A father allegedly entered Golden Grove Primary School armed with weapons, threatening to kill his child after claiming the child was not biologically his. Witnesses reported he had a knife and possibly a gun. The child had already been taken home by the mother. Director of Education Clare Browne visited the school, and Education Minister Daryll Matthew is aware. Police are investigating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
