A new $200 million investment project is set to reshape Barbuda\u2019s tourism landscape, focusing on eco-friendly development and sustainability. <\/p>

The project, led by investor Thomas and a group of international partners, aims to introduce hurricane-resistant structures and environmentally conscious designs while boosting the island\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez confirmed the initiative, stating, \u201cThis project is going to be very eco-friendly. They are not using concrete but have introduced a new way of building that is both hurricane-proof and storm-resistant.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

The project is backed by major international investors, with Thomas holding a shareholder stake. Fernandez revealed that the land had already been leased several years ago, paving the way for the next phase of development.<\/p>

Fernandez emphasized the economic benefits, stating, \u201cBy the end of this year, we expect to see construction activity beginning, and in the next four years, the development will be fully operational, providing jobs and business opportunities for the local community.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The minister suggested that this project reflects a broader trend of increasing investment interest in Barbuda. He proposed that the government compile a portfolio to highlight ongoing development efforts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think the government should put together a portfolio to showcase some of these major developments in Barbuda so people can see the scale of what\u2019s happening,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
