Antigua and Barbuda has boosted its firefighting capabilities with the acquisition of five fire trucks, a water tanker, and a ladder truck at a total cost of Xcd$8 million. <\/p>

Prime Minister Gaston Browne shared the details during an interview on Pointe FM yesterday, stating, \u201cWe\u2019ve made this investment to improve public safety and ensure our firefighters have the tools they need to respond effectively.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Prime Minister described the ladder truck as a critical addition, particularly for addressing emergencies in high-rise buildings. <\/p>

He also noted the importance of the water tanker for rural areas. \u201cThe water tanker will be a major asset in locations where access to water sources is limited,\u201d he said.<\/p>

He added that the purchase was conducted transparently and with a focus on cost-efficiency. \u201cThese vehicles were secured at competitive rates, ensuring taxpayers\u2019 money was spent wisely,\u201d Browne stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new equipment is part of the government\u2019s ongoing efforts to modernize the nation\u2019s emergency response infrastructure.<\/p>
