Antigua and Barbuda is set to modernize its immigration process with the launch of a paperless border control system next month, Telecommunications Minister Melford Nicholas announced. CLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR WHAT\u2019S APP GROUP<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>

The system, now in its pilot phase, replaces traditional paper ED cards with a digital solution, allowing travelers to submit their information online at least 24 hours before arrival. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once completed, they will receive a QR code for seamless check-ins and faster processing at Customs.<\/p>

Initially proposed during the COVID-19 pandemic to reduce physical contact, the project faced delays due to integration challenges with existing Canadian Bank Notes (CBN) border technology and financial setbacks.<\/p>

The system has undergone compatibility testing and received positive feedback from border agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
