APUA Water Business Unit Provides Update on the Ivan Rodrigues Reverse Osmosis Plant<\/strong><\/p>

The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) Water Business Unit wishes to provide an update regarding the status of the Ivan Rodrigues Osmosis Plant (IRROP), which was temporarily taken offline on Saturday, 18 January 2025, to facilitate routine maintenance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, this process encountered unforeseen technical issues, extending the plant\u2019s downtime.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The IRROP is the primary production source for potable water, currently yielding an average of 750,000 imperial gallons (IG) daily from three of its four operational units. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It supplies water to the Grays Hill and Scotts Hill Reservoirs, serving communities west of Pigotts Playing Field, Paynters West, Ovals, Michael Village, Lower Ottos, Grays Green to Five Islands, Nut Grove, and elevated areas of Grays Hill. While water was temporarily diverted from alternative sources to serve these areas, this measure may not have fully met the usual demand in the affected communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are pleased to advise that the plant is expected to resume operations by the end of today, Tuesday, 21 January 2025. While production and distribution will recommence promptly, customers are advised that it may take up to 48 hours for the distribution lines to fully recharge and normalize water delivery to all affected areas.<\/p>
