National Demand for Water Expected to be Met by September 2025<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Antigua and Barbuda is set to meet its national water demand by September 2025, Prime Minister Gaston Browne announced in his New Year\u2019s address. The government has outlined a comprehensive strategy, including increasing production capacity to 13 million gallons per day and addressing existing challenges with infrastructure and staffing.<\/p>

\u201cAn additional $110 million is being invested in water infrastructure, alongside the upskilling of staff involved in production, distribution, and maintenance,\u201d Browne said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Prime Minister highlighted that production capacity had already increased by five million gallons per day, marking progress toward the government\u2019s goal. He acknowledged ongoing inconsistencies in water supply in certain areas, describing the issue as complex but resolvable.<\/p>
