INVITATION FOR BIDS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda (GOAB) has applied for financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) towards the cost of the Basic Education Project II (BEPII)<\/strong> and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this financing to eligible payments under this contract.  Payment by CDB will be made only at the request of GOAB and upon approval by CDB, and will be subject, in all respects, to the terms and conditions of the Financing Agreement.  The Financing Agreement prohibits withdrawal from the financing account for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import, to the knowledge of CDB, is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.  No party other than GOAB shall derive any rights from the Financing Agreement or have any claim to the proceeds of the Financing.<\/p>

The BEPII Project is being implemented by the Ministry of Education through its Planning Unit. The overall objective of the project is improved access, quality and effectiveness of early childhood development and basic education in Antigua and Barbuda<\/em>. The Ministry of Education has contracted Consultants who will assist the Contractor with delivering the Project. The Consultants have prepared designs and contract documentation and will assist in tender administration and evaluation and supervise Project activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Education, Planning Unit, now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Antigua and Barbuda Basic Education Project II (BEPII): St. Mary\u2019s Secondary School.  The works include, but are not limited to the following:<\/p>

  1. Construction of two new building blocks featuring classrooms, administration spaces, restrooms, circulation systems, underwater storage cistern and other specialized spaces.<\/li>
  2. The expansion of one existing classroom block to feature three (3) additional classrooms.<\/li>
  3. The upgrade and rehabilitation of existing spaces within the school.<\/li>
  4. Civil works to the site to include drainage, sanitation and parking.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Consideration will be limited to firms or joint ventures of firms, which are legally incorporated or otherwise organised in, and have their principal place of business in an eligible country and are either:<\/p>
