INVITATION FOR BIDS <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda (GOAB) has\napplied for financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) towards the\ncost of the Basic Education Project II (BEPII)<\/strong>\nand intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this financing to eligible\npayments under this contract.  Payment by\nCDB will be made only at the request of GOAB and upon approval by CDB, and will\nbe subject, in all respects, to the terms and conditions of the Financing\nAgreement.  The Financing Agreement\nprohibits withdrawal from the financing account for the purpose of any payment\nto persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import,\nto the knowledge of CDB, is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations\nSecurity Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United\nNations.  No party other than GOAB shall\nderive any rights from the Financing Agreement or have any claim to the\nproceeds of the Financing.<\/p>

The BEPII Project is being implemented by the\nMinistry of Education through its Planning Unit. The overall objective of the\nproject is improved access, quality and\neffectiveness of early childhood development and basic education in Antigua and\nBarbuda<\/em>. The Ministry of Education has contracted Consultants who will\nassist the Contractor with delivering the Project. The Consultants have\nprepared designs and contract documentation and will assist in tender\nadministration and evaluation and supervise Project activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Education, Planning Unit, now\ninvites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Antigua and Barbuda Basic\nEducation Project II (BEPII): St. Mary\u2019s Secondary School.  The works include, but are not limited to the\nfollowing: <\/p>

  1. Construction\nof two new building blocks featuring classrooms, administration spaces,\nrestrooms, circulation systems, underwater storage cistern and other specialized\nspaces.<\/li>
  2. The expansion of one existing classroom block\nto feature three (3) additional classrooms.<\/li>
  3. The upgrade\nand rehabilitation of existing spaces within the school.<\/li>
  4. Civil works to the site to include drainage,\nsanitation and parking.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Consideration will be limited to firms or joint\nventures of firms, which are legally incorporated or otherwise organised in,\nand have their principal place of business in an eligible country and are\neither:<\/p>
