The ceremony was officiated by His Excellency Sir Clare Roberts KCN, KC, Governor-General\u2019s Deputy, who described the role as essential to promoting transparency and accountability within government institutions.<\/p>

The Office of the Information Commissioner, established under the Freedom of Information Act, is tasked with protecting the public\u2019s right to access government information, investigating complaints regarding denied access, and providing education on the Act. <\/p>

Athill is expected to lead efforts to ensure the effective implementation of these responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sir Clare extended his congratulations to Athill and expressed confidence in his ability to uphold the values of transparency and integrity. <\/p>
