Retired Police Commissioner Alvin Goodwin Has Died<\/em><\/p>

Retired Police Commissioner, Mr. Alvin C. Goodwin CPM, QPM has died.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n


The former head of the police force passed away on Sunday, December 8, in the United States at the age of 85 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Goodwin succeeded former Commissioner Edrick K. Potter as the Commissioner of Police from 1995 to 1999. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

He was formerly head of the Criminal Investigations Department and Deputy Commissioner of Administration within the police force. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was awarded the Colonial Police Medal-CPM for Meritorious Service in 1977, and later in his career, he received the Queens Police Medal-QPM for Distinguished Service. Mr Goodwin retired in 1999, after serving for over 40 years.<\/p>
