The St Lucia-based East Caribbean Telecommunications\nAuthority (ECTEL) has donated 50 thousand EC dollars towards the Barbuda recovery\neffort.<\/p>

Acting Managing Director of ECTEL Andrew Millette made\nthe presentation Monday to Director of the National Office of Disaster Services\n(NODS) Philmore Mullin. \u201cI think it\u2019s really important that we all try to\ncontribute to help Barbuda to rebuild and today I\u2019m here to hand over a cheque\nof 50 thousand EC dollars to aid in this reconstruction\u201d, Millette said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Millette said ECTEL had committed to provide support\nto Dominica and Antigua and Barbuda following the devastation caused by\nHurricanes Maria and Irma respectively.<\/p>

Director of NODS Philmore Mullin says he appreciates\nthe assistance offered and looks forward to continued support from ECTEL and\nothers. He says there is a list of priorities which NODS will look at before\ndetermining the use of the funds.\n\nMinister of\nInformation the Hon. Melford Nicholas, who was also present, said this will be\npart of government\u2019s plans to further improve the telecommunications\ninfrastructure on Barbuda to ensure that communication is always sustained. \n\n\n\n<\/p>
