Overcoming 18 years of personal struggles with addiction, Mary transformed her life and dedicated herself to helping others in similar situations. Through her foundation, Mary John Transformation of Lives Incorporated, she has provided critical support to individuals battling addiction, homelessness, and mental health challenges. Her efforts have brought hope to countless vulnerable individuals, solidifying her as a true force for good in the community.<\/p>

“Life\u2019s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?” she often reflects, a mantra that has guided her extraordinary journey of service.<\/p>

Governor General Sir Rodney Williams presided over the ceremony, celebrating four honourees whose work has profoundly impacted Antigua and Barbuda. Alongside Mary John\u2019s accolade, the Cross<\/em> award was presented to Howard Allen<\/strong>, a visionary filmmaker whose works have shaped Caribbean cinema. His pioneering contributions include The Sweetest Mango<\/em>, Antigua\u2019s first locally produced feature film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mitzi Allen<\/strong>, a trailblazing journalist and media producer, received the Gold Medal<\/em>. Her decades-long dedication to storytelling and mentorship has elevated Caribbean voices and influenced the region\u2019s cultural landscape.<\/p>

The Halo Hero Humanitarian Award<\/em>, introduced by Her Excellency Lady Sandra Williams in 2017, was awarded to John Swift<\/strong> for his compassion and selfless humanitarian contributions, including his care for the elderly and vulnerable in his community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
