PM Browne Highlights Creation of Over 2,000 Jobs as Economy Continues to Grow<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has reported significant progress in job creation and economic growth under his administration, stating that more than 2,000 jobs were generated in the last year alone. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on Pointe FM, the Prime Minister said the resilience of the Antigua and Barbuda economy despite challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLast year alone, we generated over 2,000 jobs. Can you imagine that?\u201d Browne stated. He attributed the success to his government\u2019s policies and the Labour Party\u2019s ability to energize its supporters. <\/p>

\"\"<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Browne noted that the economy has rebounded strongly, growing to approximately $6 billion, with projections to reach $6.5 billion by next year.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Prime Minister pointed out that the government had significantly reduced the debt-to-GDP ratio from 104 percent in 2014 to 62 percent, even after the pandemic caused a sharp decline in GDP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s what we call real performance; that\u2019s what we call real resilience,\u201d he remarked. He also noted that the recent town hall meetings, held early in the electoral term, were well-attended and demonstrated a high level of public engagement, which he found encouraging.<\/p>

Browne credited his government\u2019s leadership, as well as the work of local representatives such as Senator Lamin Newton and Dwayne George, for keeping constituents connected and informed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He expressed confidence in the Labour Party\u2019s ability to sustain this momentum and continue delivering economic opportunities for the people of Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>
