Governor General Sir Rodney Williams, during his throne speech delivered yesterday, announced plans for the construction of a deep-water port in Barbuda. <\/p>

This initiative will enable the island to accommodate small cruise vessels starting in 2025, forming part of the government\u2019s wider efforts to expand tourism and economic development in Barbuda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis new port will allow Barbuda to welcome cruise visitors to its shores, integrating the island more fully into our national tourism strategy,\u201d Sir Rodney stated. He emphasized that this project underscores the government\u2019s commitment to ensuring Barbuda\u2019s inclusion in national growth initiatives.<\/p>

The deep-water port is anticipated to enhance Barbuda\u2019s capacity to attract and manage increased visitor traffic while preserving the island’s unique charm. Sir Rodney highlighted the project as a milestone in Barbuda\u2019s journey toward greater integration and development.<\/p>
