An injured dog, hit by a car on DeSouza Road at 8:00 PM the previous evening, was rescued after spending 12 hours in a ditch. The incident was brought to light by Joy Farrell in the Dogs and Cats of Antigua discussion group, where she shared the dog\u2019s plight and the rescue efforts that followed.<\/p>

Describing the dog\u2019s condition, Farrell reported that the animal was in excruciating pain, screaming when attempts were made to lift him. Local rescuer Oreo responded to the call for help, and together they managed to transport the dog to safety in Farrell\u2019s car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Veterinarian Fiona assessed the dog\u2019s injuries, identifying a broken rib, spinal cord damage, and a severely swollen back leg. Despite the grim prognosis, the team expressed hope. Thanks to a partnership with new rescue organizations enabling the relocation of adult dogs, Fiona plans to keep the dog confined for six weeks to monitor his recovery progress.<\/p>
