Commissioner of Police Atlee Rodney delivered an inspiring address to the graduating class of Course 49, urging the 69 new recruits to embrace their responsibilities with integrity, professionalism, and dedication. <\/p>

Speaking at the Sir Wright F. George Police Training Academy, Rodney highlighted the importance of their training and the expectations placed upon them as the newest members of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou have demonstrated your capacity to learn, your ability to learn, and your willingness to learn,\u201d Rodney said. \u201cAs a result, you have arrived at this landmark, ready to enhance your knowledge and be proficient in your responsibilities as police officers and firefighters.\u201d<\/p>

Rodney emphasized the six core values of the police force\u2014professionalism, integrity, honesty, leadership, partnership, and service\u2014encouraging the recruits to carry these principles into their daily duties.<\/p>

\u201cAs you prepare to hit the road, I urge you to focus on what you have learned and be prepared to apply it,\u201d he said. \u201cAntigua and Barbuda demands competent police officers and dedicated firefighters.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Commissioner reminded the recruits that their profession requires constant vigilance and accountability. \u201cThe public expects much of you, and you must deliver with honor and devotion,\u201d he added.<\/p>

Acknowledging the efforts of the instructors and facilitators, Rodney expressed gratitude for their role in preparing the recruits. \u201cThe knowledge and experience shared with you during your training will go a long way in shaping your careers,\u201d he said. \u201cI commend the Commandant and staff of the Academy for their hard work and dedication.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He highlighted the comprehensive nature of the training program, which included theoretical instruction, practical exercises, and exposure to real-world scenarios. \u201cYou were exposed to essential but relevant topics, preparing you to be effective in these challenging times,\u201d Rodney said.<\/p>

Rodney urged the graduates to stand out as leaders in their communities and maintain the public\u2019s trust. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe investment made in your development now requires you to stand up, show up, and show off,\u201d he stated. \u201cBe diligent in your duties and remain committed to the safety and security of Antigua and Barbuda.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rodney concluded by reaffirming the police force\u2019s dedication to ongoing training and development. \u201cThe Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda will continue to invest in training at all levels to meet the demands of this vital profession,\u201d he said. \u201cThe nation expects excellence, and I am confident you are ready to deliver.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
