PM Browne Promises Appointment of Information Commissioner This Week<\/strong><\/p>

Prime Minister Gaston Browne assured Parliament that Anthony Kurt Athill will be formally appointed as the Information Commissioner by the end of the week. Browne made the commitment in response to questions from Opposition MP Richard Lewis, who pressed for answers on delays in the appointment and the establishment of an office for the role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Browne explained that the delay was procedural and confirmed that Attorney General Steadroy Benjamin provided assurances that the appointment would be completed imminently. \u201cI was just given an assurance by the distinguished Attorney General that the appointment will happen this week,\u201d the Prime Minister stated.<\/p>
