Search and rescue teams were on Saturday continuing their efforts to find two persons missing after their six-seater plane crashed in the area of Nirvana Beach on Thursday night.<\/p>

\u201cSearch and Rescue teams from Royal Bahamas Police, Royal Bahamas Defence Force and BASRA located the aircraft and efforts to locate survivors are being continued. Police and the Department of Civil Aviation will continue investigation into this incident,\u201d police said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They said that the aircraft, a PA-27 six seater, with the registration N8383C, left Lantana Airport, West Palm Beach, Florida, with two persons on board on Thursday night and shortly afterwards they received reports from Air Traffic Control that a plane disappeared from the radar in the area of the beach and was believed to have crashed in nearby waters.<\/p>

Police said that a short time later the pilot had reported that the door to the aircraft had flown open. However there have been unsuccessful searches for the pilot and the other person, both of whom have not been identified.<\/p>

On Friday night, the authorities called off the search and said it would resume on Saturday.<\/p>\n
