November\nis being observed as World Diabetes Month with November 14th<\/sup> being\nWorld Diabetes Day. <\/p>

The\nAntigua and Barbuda Diabetes Association in collaboration with the Ministry of\nHealth, Wellness and the Environment will be hosting a week of activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A\nworkshop will be held for persons living with diabetes and their family members\nfrom 8:30am to 3pm at the Mount St. Johns Medical Centre auditorium on\nSaturday, November 10th<\/sup>.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The\ndiscussion will include the family and diabetes, knowing your medications, meal\nplanning, heart health and CPR and the family.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Medical\nOfficer of Health, Dr. Orita Zachariah, Pharmacist, Mr. Andre Bovell, Chief\nNutritionist, Ms. Samantha Moitt, Internal Medicine Consultant, Dr. Sharon\nCordner and Emergency Care Provider, Mr. Anderson Tuitt will be the featured\nspeakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\nwill also be a church service will be held at the Kentish Pentecostal Church at\n8am on Sunday November 11th<\/sup>. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Monday\nNovember 12th<\/sup> will be the media day and Tuesday November 13 will be\neducational day in selected schools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On\nWorld Diabetes Day, November 14, there will be a live interview of a family\nliving with diabetes.  There will also be\n\u201ctalking in the square\u201d street fair from 9am to 3pm.  This will be held at headquarters of the\nMinistry of Health, Wellness and the Environment. <\/p>

On\nThursday November 15th<\/sup>, there will be education workshops at\nselected work places while the activities will culminate on Saturday November\n17 with a walk and breakfast beginning at the Lions Den and going through the\ncity of St. John\u2019s. <\/p>
