A Middle Eastern airline is in talks with the Antigua and Barbuda government to repurpose the old V.C. Bird International Airport Terminal Building, aiming for the facility to be operational by January 2025. <\/p>

Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez shared the news in a recent interview, explaining that the airline intends to use the terminal to bring its own carrier to Antigua. “We\u2019re in early discussions, but we\u2019d like this partnership to come to fruition as early as next year,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister Fernandez also announced the return of weekly flights by German airline Condor, marking an important step for Antigua’s connection to Europe. <\/p>

“This opens additional gateways through Germany, boosting our reach within Europe,” he noted.<\/p>

Highlighting the tourism sector\u2019s strong performance over the past year, Fernandez pointed out record-breaking visitor numbers both by air and sea, with cruise passenger arrivals nearing 900,000 and air arrivals expected to fall between 325,000 and 350,000.<\/p>\n
