Dear fellow citizens of Antigua and Barbuda:<\/p>

As we commemorate the 43rd anniversary of our independence, let us reflect on the journey we have undertaken as a nation. This year’s theme, “Antigua and Barbuda: From Community Collaboration to Global Gains,” serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of unity and collective action in transforming our society for the better. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have made significant strides since first claiming our freedom, with our rich culture, traditions, and the resilience of our citizens standing as a testament to our unwavering spirit.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

However, we must not overlook the pressing challenges we face today. Many of our communities, particularly in the St. John’s Rural South constituency, grapple with inadequate access to basic necessities like potable water and a reliable energy supply. Rising food prices and the heavy tax burden have further compounded the difficulties our families endure. The neglect of our infrastructure and social services stifles growth and development, leaving many marginalized.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The challenges faced by our youth in St. John’s Rural South are a direct result of these challenges, exacerbated by a history of broken promises that have significant wealth waiting to be harnessed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am confident that with the right guidance and resources, our youth have the ability to realize their full potential. Unfortunately, our youth are often deprived of these opportunities due to the administration\u2019s greed or mismanagement, which drains the constituency of the very vitality it needs to thrive. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

As advocates for change, we must empower our younger generation by providing them with the resources, education, and support needed to thrive. By fostering community collaboration, we can create pathways for our youth to engage in meaningful endeavors that benefit them, thereby facilitating their positive contributions to society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is imperative that we, as citizens, unite with unwavering determination to protect our nation from encroaching foreign interests that threaten our sovereignty and heritage in the name of development. We must also honor the natural beauty of our land, safeguarding Barbuda’s resources from exploitation while addressing the alarming decline of our indigenous species.<\/p>

Independence is not only a celebration of freedom; it is a call to action to ensure that every voice is heard and every individual has the opportunity to succeed. Today, let us pledge to embrace our collective identity with pride and honor, treating our nation and its treasures with the respect they deserve. Together, we must salvage what remains for the future generations.<\/p>

As we celebrate this Independence Day, let us move forward with renewed purpose, standing strong for our land, our people, and the legacy we wish to leave behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
