AT&LU Engages Dominican Republic Community in Townhall Meeting<\/strong><\/p>

The Antigua and Barbuda Trades & Labour Union (AT&LU), represented by its President, Cde. Bernard de Nully, took part in a significant Townhall Meeting aimed at addressing the concerns of the Dominican Republic community within Antigua and Barbuda. The meeting, held as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen relations and foster dialogue, brought together key figures from both the Dominican and local communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among those present was Julio Naso, a well-respected pastor in the Dominican Republic community, who highlighted the importance of unity and support among migrant workers. <\/p>

Wascar Feliz, Vice Consul for the Dominican Republic, also attended, offering insight into the services and assistance available to Dominican nationals in Antigua and Barbuda. Alex de Jesus Martinez Tatis, President of the DOMINICANS WITH LABOUR group, underscored the collaboration between Dominican workers and local labor groups, including domestic and construction workers, who form a significant part of the workforce in Antigua and Barbuda. He lauded the AT&LU\u2019s involvement and advocacy on behalf of migrant laborers, reinforcing the bond between both communities under the Labour Party banner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting served as a platform for discussing challenges faced by Dominican workers, including labor rights, social integration, and improving conditions for domestic and construction workers. Cde. Bernard de Nully affirmed AT&LU\u2019s dedication to advocating for fair treatment and equal opportunities for all workers in Antigua and Barbuda, regardless of their nationality.<\/p>
