Speaking to the graduating class of 2024, Miller highlighted the campus’s growth since its inception and urged graduates to embrace global perspectives in their future endeavors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chancellor Miller, a former corporate executive with over 30 years of experience across the Caribbean, emphasized the importance of autonomy for institutions like UWI, stating, \u201cGreater autonomy and a stronger presence in the Eastern Caribbean were critical in the corporate world, and they are equally important for an institution shaping the minds of the Caribbean\u2019s future leaders.\u201d<\/p>

In his address, Miller encouraged the graduates to adopt a broad, global perspective as they embark on their professional journeys. He shared a thought-provoking example of global interconnectedness, illustrating how even the most everyday activities are shaped by global influences. From cars assembled in multiple countries to smartphones designed and produced across continents, Miller highlighted the importance of viewing the world through a global lens, while also acting locally.<\/p>
